Bowel screening change ‘totally unethical’
This week, the government scrapped the Māori and Pacific age extension in the national bowel cancer screening programme.
A phased roll-out had been underway to screen Māori and Pacific from age 50, and non-Māori from age 60, in response to data showing patterns of risk.
